About the event

On the 30th January, HIPP About Health stated a conversation with Christian leaders about the physical and mental well being in the communities they serve in and the role and responsibility of the church. On the 13th February, we continue that conversation.

The broad premise still remains, that physical, mental and spiritual health of humanity has always been part of God’s redemptive plan, therefore part of the message of the kingdom or the message of salvation, that should shape the paradigms of people, empowering them to make lifestyle choices that position them to experience the best possible health that is free of many of those preventable diseases, and an immune system strong enough to fight off viruses.

The current pandemic has also revealed the injustices that exist within national efforts to combat this effort, and as the church, we have a responsibility, like Jesus, to bring hope and solutions to overcome these problems.

This session on the 13th February we will continue our discussion by reviewing what the church or Christianity is currently doing to bring hope and solutions for the health threats against nations at this time.

Introductory Discussion Question

Ownership and responsibility – Does Christianity or the church have a stake in providing solutions for diseases, and viruses, and a responsibility to spread a message of preventative medicine or health care to those within their spheres of influence?

Discussion 2

What’s Christianity and the Church doing today about health care and healthy living. Presentation and discussion 50 minutes

  • Is the responsibility and message of health care linked to faith, and what programmes or ministries exist around health care in your church, or denomination?
  • If you have a health care ministry in your local church does it support the local community or shape health care policies at the local government levels?
  • Does your health care ministry have partnerships with the medical practices within your community?
